Cross Canada and Back, Part 52

Bronte Harbour on Lake Ontario.

Saturday 27th of August 2011, day 104

It is lazy Saturday morning. The sun is shining, it is cool and crisp outside. We hang around and catch up with emails , pictures and journals.

After lunch we drive to Bronte Harbour, just south of Oakville, on Lake Ontario. This is a beautiful town with a village feel, right on the water with a very posh marina.

This is a great place to relax, shop, sail, and walk along the lake. We even stopped in on an Open House. It was a duplex across the marina, about 10 years old, nicely updated, but on 4 floors for $ 1.1 Million. There was also a condo building going up, with units starting at $ 850,000.

These are amazing prices for people working downtown Toronto -  their commute would be anywhere from 40 minutes to two hours depending the traffic. Different lifestyles.

We go for ice-cream and coffee, say no more.

At about 4:30 we meet with my sister Annamarie and her whole family, they all live in Toronto. They were all kind enough to drive out to Oakville to meet us at the Keg, so we did not have to drive downtown.

They all came Eloisa and Patrick with sons Hayden and baby Lleolyn; Ian and Susi with their children Lucca and Mia; Wyatt just back from holidays in Italy; and even our cousin's daughter, Anja, and her boyfriend Michael from Switzerland.

It was wonderful to see them all. We had some very lively discussions in three languages: English, Italian and Swiss German. I am sure the Keg staff was happy that we sat in the back of the restaurant. After a few hours we said good bye to everybody. We had a wonderful time.

Happy we went back to our campsite.
